WE NEED GOD IN AMERICA AGAIN

The Only Hope for America Is Jesus!

INTRODUCTION:  From the very beginning, America was not built on vague spirituality or generic morality - she was birthed from bold, biblical conviction. Our founders did not stumble into freedom; they stood on Scripture. They believed in divine providence, preached Christian virtue, taught biblical doctrine, and shaped laws from the light of God’s Word. The earliest schools taught the Bible, the earliest laws echoed the Bible, and the earliest leaders quoted the Bible. This nation was not founded on the shifting sands of Secularism, Socialism, Communism, Progressivism, or any Ism or schism but on the solid rock of Christian truth, Christian teaching, and Christian principles. And if those truths made America great once, only those same truths can make America great again. We don’t need new philosophies; we need the old paths. We don’t need new doctrines; we need the doctrine that built this nation. We don’t need new foundations; we need the faith that formed our foundations. Psalm 33:12 declares it plainly: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.” If America is to rise, she must return — return to Christ, return to Scripture, return to the God who blessed her at the beginning.  Psalm 33 is a marching song psalm. It is a national anthem of ancient Israel. It is a revival rally cry. It is a patriotic praise hymn. And right in the middle of it stands the blazing banner of Psalm 33:12: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.” This is not a verse about political parties, polls, or platforms. It is about a people whose first loyalty is the Lord - and whose love for their land flows from their love for their God. Today, we march through Psalm 33 verse by verse. Today, we rally around God and country. Today, we lift high the banner of the Lord and pray for revival in America. We Need God in America Again - Because the Only Hope for America Is Jesus!

I. A NATION PRAISES GOD WHEN JESUS IS LORD!

 Psalm 33:1-3

A. The Call to Rejoice Psalm 33:1-3, Psalm 33 begins with a choir, not a crisis.  “Rejoice” - shout with holy happiness. “Praise” - lift your voice like a trumpet. “Sing” - make melody with skill and sincerity. Patriotic Praise Produces Powerful People.

B. The Foundation of Truth Psalm 33:4-5

If America is to stand, she must stand on Scripture — not slogans, not social trends, not shifting sands.

II. A NATION TRUSTS GOD WHEN JESUS IS LORD!

A. The Creator of All Nations Psalm 33:6-9

B. The Controller of History Psalm 33:10-12

Verse 10: God frustrates the plans of wicked nations.

Verse 11: God’s counsel stands forever.

Verse 12: God blesses the nation that blesses Him.

Psalm 33:12 is not a political slogan - it is a spiritual standard.

III. A NATION IS SEEN BY GOD WHEN JESUS IS LORD! Isaiah 59:1-2

A. The God Who Watches Psalm 33:13-15

God sees every nation.  God watches every leader. God knows every heart.

B. The Failure of Human Strength Psalm 33:16-17

America’s hope is not in Washington, Wall Street, or Hollywood. America’s hope is in the Lord.

IV. A NATION HOPES IN GOD WHEN JESUS IS LORD!

A. The People Who Wait Psalm 33:18-19

B. The People Who Worship Psalm 33:20-22, Psalm 20:7

CONCLUSION:  I Want to Give A GOSPEL CALL FOR GOD AND COUNTRY Psalm 33 ends with hope - but hope has a highway, and its name is Jesus. The greatest act of patriotism is not waving a flag - it is lifting the cross. The greatest gift to America is not a vote - it is a soul saved by grace. The greatest revival in our land will not come from Congress - it will come from Calvary.
