THE REALITY OF THE RESURRECTION
Matthew 28:1-15
INTRODUCTION: “The Resurrection Was Reality That Rewrote Reality” Why? Because: What could the forces of evil do if the One they kill does not stay dead? There is something about reality. Reality is stubborn. Reality doesn’t care about your feelings. Reality doesn’t bend for your opinions.
Reality doesn’t negotiate with your fears. But on one particular morning - Reality bowed to Resurrection. Midnight thought it had the final word.
Death thought it had the final victory. Darkness thought it had the final vote. But then - But then came the Morning and the Morning mocked Midnight.
Light laughed at darkness. Resurrection rewrote reality. Matthew 28 is not a chapter - it is a collision of worlds, a confrontation of kingdoms, a confirmation of Christ, a consummation of prophecy, and the Reality of the Resurrection.

A Greeting of Grace - “All hail.” Matthew 28:9
A Gesture of Glory - “held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him” Matt. 28:9
A Gospel of Going - “Be not afraid go tell” Matthew 28:10
The risen Christ doesn’t wait for you to arrive - He walks where you wander.
III. THE REALITY OF RESURRECTION SUPPRESSING Matthew 28:11-15
A. The Reality of Truth Reporting Matthew 28:11
B. The Reality of Corrupt Reasoning Matthew 28:12
Money has always been used to manipulate meaning. “A paid lie is nothing more than a poor non-truth.”
C. The Reality of Failed Suppression Matthew 28:13-15
Their lie was illogical, impossible, and inconsistent. The cover up couldn’t cover up the empty tomb. The rumor couldn’t restrain the Resurrection Reality. Truth Triumphs: John 8:32 Lies Lose: Proverbs 12:19
TRUTH APPLIED:
A. THE RESURRECTION MAKES REALITY REDEEMABLE
The resurrection doesn’t just change your destination - it changes your definition.
B. THE RESURRECTION REWRITES EVERYTHING
1. It Rewrites Your Past. Your failures are not final. Your sin is not sovereign.
2. It Rewrites Your Present. You can live with purpose, power, and peace.
3. It Rewrites Your Future. Death is not a wall - it is a door.
CONCLUSION: THE REALITY OF RESURRECTION CALLING
The resurrection is not just an event - It is an invitation.
It calls the sinner to salvation. It calls the wanderer to restoration.
It calls the believer to celebration.
If Jesus stepped out of the grave, you can step out of your guilt.
If Jesus walked out of the tomb, you can walk out of your bondage.
If Jesus rose in victory, you can rise in new life, new hope, new joy, new purpose.
THE TOMB IS EMPTY SO YOUR HEART DOESN’T HAVE TO BE.
