Revelation 20:1–7

Revelation 20:1–7
Introduction: Some call it the chapter of controversy. The some see a controversy in in ver. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
It has to do with the 1,000-year period known as the Millennium.
1.) Postmillennialism — This view says that men will get better and better and will establish the Kingdom of God and then Jesus will return. (False!)
2.) Amillennialism — This view says that the Kingdom is here right now, Satan is already bound. This view spiritualizes these, Scriptures. (False!)
3.) Premillennialism — This view says that man will continue to degenerate and when man hits the bottom, Christ will return to the earth and establish His Kingdom. This view treats these Scriptures literally. (True View!)
There have been some who asked why even have a millennium? These are several answers:
1. To fulfill Old Testament promises to Israel.
2. To give a public display of the glory of Jesus.
3. To answer the prayer, “Thy Kingdom come.”
4. To fulfill the promise that the saints will reign.
5. To bring about a complete redemption of nature. (Rom. 8:19–22)
6. To give man one final test under the sovereign rule of Christ. Let’s look together at this great time.
   # 1. SATAN REMOVED Revelation 20:1–3
? # 2. THE SAINTS RESURRECTED Revelation 20:4-6, 1 Cor. 15:55–57
a. To prove the incorrigibility of Satan.  b. To prove the utter depravity of men.

    # 5. SATAN RUINED   Revelation 20:10
What Will Life Be Like in Christ’s Millennial Reign? The phrase Thousand Years occurs six times in Revelation 20:1-7.  We call these thousand years Christ’s Millennial Reign.  The word “millennium” comes from two Latin words: Mille (“thousand”) and annum (“year”). Therefore, Jesus’ thousand-year reign upon the earth is His Millennial Reign.  Another name for it is “the kingdom age.”  When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, Luke 11:2 “...Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. “He knew the ultimate fulfillment of that prayer will be His millennial reign. The seven-year tribulation period is God finishing up some unfinished business He has with Israel.  That period is the final seven years of 490 years of Israel’s history that God prophesied through Daniel long ago (Daniel 9:20-27). But what will life in Christ’s millennial reign actually be like? Well, that’s a big subject, one upon which entire books have been written. However, I’ll attempt a descriptive overview. Ready? Here we go.
1. Jesus will reign as King of the world from Jerusalem.   Luke 1:30–33,
