THE OPENING OF THE SEALS
Text: Revelation 6:1-17
Introduction: Often, we've heard of the Four Horsemen in the book of Revelation, but few people really know what that means. What we're really talking about is the beginning of the Great Tribulation. This Great Tribulation is a terrible and a horrible time. Revelation 6:15-17, Matthew 24:21-22, Jeremiah 30:6-8, Daniel 12:1-3 Deuteronomy 4:29, 30 The Book of Revelation speaks of the horses as beasts. Note how Revelation 6 and Matthew 24 line up with each other.
I. THE WHITE HORSE OF DECEPTION
Revelation 6:2, Matthew 24:4–6
A. He Is a Man of Peace
This rider has a “bow” in his hand, but he has no arrows.
B. He Is a Man of Power “he went forth conquering, and to conquer”.
C. He Is a Man of Pretense
The Antichrist is that he is not the man he appears to be.
II. THE RED HORSE OF DESTRUCTION
Revelation 6:3–4, Matthew 24:6–7
A. The Peace Is Broken Matthew. 24:6–7. 1 Thessalonians. 5:3
B. The Planet Is Brutalized “great sword”.
III. THE BLACK HORSE OF DESTITUTION
Famine usually follows periods of wars. Rev. 6:5, Matthew. 24:7

IV. THE PALE (PALE GREEN) HORSE OF DEVASTATION

A. The Size of This Devastation
one-quarter of the world’s population. That is one out of every four people living during those days.
B. The Severity of This Devastation
Sword, Famine, Death, Beasts, Martyrs Revelation 6:9 The Four Horsemen it seems should be interpreted as an allegory of the harbingers of the end of the world.
