THE UNVEILING OF JESUS CHRIST!
Revelation 1:1–3 Many have considered the book of Revelation to be a sealed book and unable to be understood. However, the word Revelation comes from the Greek name Apokalypsis, which means a disclosure, a revelation or manifestation and to be revealed. It implies the lifting up of a curtain so all can see alike what is uncovered. When used in writing it means to reveal or make clear. Often the word “revelation” or Greek word “apocalypse.” typically brings to mind synonyms such as disaster, destruction, day of reckoning, and so forth, the Greek word literally means, “uncovering” or “unveiling.” So, it’s helpful here to read the first verse, “The unveiling of Jesus Christ.” So, we find that the book of Revelation is not only an open book but its contents are definitely intended to be revealed and understood by us. It is in fact a revealing of Jesus Christ Himself. Revelation 1:1–3, Revelation 1:8, Revelation 1:11 Thus, we have the Book of Revelation. Just as Genesis is the book of beginnings, Revelation is the book of consummation that finally ends with a new beginning. Somewhere between frightening, mysterious, comforting, reassuring, and exhilarating - that’s the book of Revelation
THERE IS FOUR MAJOR METHODS FOR INTERPRETING REVELATION “PRETERIST, HISTORICAL, IDEALIST, FUTURIST” Perhaps there needs to be another view!
THE BIBLELISTIC METHOD - It is where you allow the passage of scripture to say what it says. Realize the scriptures may be referring to the following: historical events in the past; present events as they were happening at the time the scriptures were written; or future / prophetic events that will happen in the future. Understand that the entire Bible including the book of Revelation always speaks factually – using literal, figurative, allegorical, or symbolic means to paint a picture of the infallible, inerrant truth the Holy scriptures have for us.

SOME THINGS WE MUST DO IF WE WILL LEARN ANY TRANSFORMING TRUTH FROM THE BOOK OF REVELATION:
1.) Approach the Whole Bible in this way: Romans 3:4 “let God be true, but every man a liar;”
2.) Seek Help from God the Holy Spirit. John 16:13
3.) Be willing to totally DO what the Bible says: John 7:17
4.) Do These Three Things Humbly. Matthew 11:25 Many are oblivious to the obvious because they fail to see the profundity of simplicity.
THE OUTLINE OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION:
Introduction and salutation (Rev. 1:1-8)
1. "The things which you have seen": The glorified Christ (Rev.1:9-20)
2. "The things which are": The seven churches (Rev.2:1-3:22)
3. "What must take place after these things": The Great Tribulation and the second coming of Christ (Rev.4:1-22:7) Final instructions and invitation

The Central Character of the Book Is Jesus Christ. “First Thoughts about Last Things” Revelation 1:1
Three times this truths Jesus has used this.
# 1.) "I am A. and Z." of the written book. Revelation 1:8
# 2.)"I am A. and Z." of the thirsty heart. Revelation 21:6
# 3) "I am A. and Z." of the coming home. Revelation 22:13
II. THE PROPHETIC PURPOSE OF THE BOOK REVELATION Revelation 1:1-2, II Peter 3:8-9
III. THE PRECIOUS PROMISE OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION Revelation 1:3
1. Because the Revelation is Revealing. Revelation 1:1-2
2. Because the Revelation is Rewarding.
A.) Rewarding to Read the Prophecy. (Sprit) Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is he that readeth.”
B.) Rewarding to Hear the Prophecy. (Soul) Revelation 1:3 “and they that hear the words of this prophecy” Romans 10:17, Matthew 24:36-39
C.) Rewarding to Heed the Prophecy. (Body) Revelation 1:3 Reward in Lifestyle and Learning. Revelation / Apokalypsis, = Disclosure, reveal a revelation or manifestation and to be revealed.
