Text: I John 2:18–29

These are perilous times—pregnant times, and you need to be aware and get involved in a big way.

A. WE MUST BE INTERCESSORS!

B. WE MUST BE SOUL-WINNERS

C. WE MUST PREPARE OUR FAMILY

D. WE MUST COMFORT OTHERS WITH GOD’S WORD

I. WE NEED TO BE AWAKE BECAUSE WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS!

I John 2:18, Titus 2:13-13,1 Corinthians 15:51-52, Matthew 25:6

II. WE NEED TO BE AWARE BECAUSE ANTICHRISTS ARE HERE AND THE ANTICHRIST IS COMING! I John 2:18

Not only is Jesus coming—the antichrist is coming, and we need to be aware. He is called, for example, “the man of sin.”

II Thessalonians 2:1–8

A. THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST IS DEVILISH

First of all, he is devilish. He is full of the devil. He is Satan incarnate.

B. THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST IS DIVISIVE

I John 2:19, II Thessalonians 2:3, I Timothy 4:1

C. THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST IS DECEPTIVE

Matthew 24:24, I John 2:20-23

The focal point of the Antichrist deception: it is over the person of Jesus Christ. I John 4:1-4, II John 7-11

D. THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST IS DESTRUCTIVE

I John 2:24-25

III. WE NEED TO BE ABIDING IN JESUS BECAUSE JESUS IS COMING SOON!

here picks up an interesting word, and he uses it over and over again. I John 2:24 “Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.”

I John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, ...”

I John 2:28 “And now, little children, abide in Him;” That, if it’s the last days and we need to be awake—if antichrist is coming and the Great Tribulation, we need to be aware—then our Lord is on His way, and we need to be abiding. The word “abide” mean? Well, literally, it means “to be at home”— “to be at home.”

Here’s what we’re to do:

A. WE MUST ABIDE IN THE WORD OF GOD

I John 2:24

B. WE MUST ABIDE WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD

I John 2:27, I John 2:20, John 14:26

C. WE MUST ABIDE WITH THE SON OF GOD

I John 2:28

D. WE MUST ABIDE IN THE CHURCH OF GOD

I John 2:29, Hebrews 10:25–27
