Jesus Christ Walks On Water
Jesus Is God’s Power Over Our Despairs
Text: John 6:15-21 and Matthew 14:22-33
When Jesus did Miracles, they were Not Publicity Stunts, they were object lessons and illustrated Sermons.
I. THE PROBLEM OF THE STORM
A.) The Distance from The Shore Matthew 14:24
The Sea of Galilee 41,019 Acres. 33 Miles in Circumference, 13 Miles Long, 8 Miles Wide and with an Average of 141 Feet Deep! They were 4 Miles out into the sea of Galilee when the storm came.
B.) The Direction of The Wind Matthew 14:24
It’s not right for the Upright to be Uptight.
C.) The Darkness of The Night John 6:17
Never Doubt in The Dark What God Has Shown You I The Light!
II. THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SAVIOR
A.) A Declaration of Deity Matthew 14:27
B.) A Proclamation of Eternal Presence
C.) An Announcement of Abundance
III. THE PROGRAM OF THE SAINTS
What threatens to be over our head is already under Jesus’ feet.
A.)  Step # 1   See Jesus.  Matthew 14:26,
B.)  Step # 2   Hear Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29
Peter did not step out of the boat until he got Jesus’ permission.
Faith is your response to the Word of God. Romans 10:17
C.)  Step # 3   Obey Jesus. Matthew 14:29
D.) Step # 4   Prove Jesus. Matthew 14:29
Digging for the facts is always better intellectual exercise than jumping to conclusions.
You’re  safer on the waves with Jesus than you are on dry ground.
Two notable things about Peter.
1.) He Got Out of The Boat and Walked on Water with Jesus.
2.) He Knew Who to Cry Out to When He Was Sinking.  Failure in the past does not nullify Purpose in the Future.
Psalm 37:23-24, God does not flunk any of His children He just Re-enrolls them.
E.) Step # 5   Worship Jesus. Matthew 14:31-33
Peter was not walking on water that day when he walked across the water to Jesus. He was really walking on the Word of God.
