Jesus In The Midst Of Our Storms
Jesus In The Midst Of Our Storms
Jesus Christ Walks On Water and Calms The Sea
Text: Matthew 14:22-33
Introduction: The story of Jesus walking on water is found in three of the four Gospels: Matthew 14:22-34,Mark 6:45-53, and John 6:16-21.
It is not included in the Gospel of Luke. Each account of the miracle shares key details but also has variations, such as the specific details of Peter's attempt to walk on the water, which is only mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew.
There are a number of miracles in this miracle of stilling a storm at sea. There are two miracles of walking on water, there is the miracle of saving Peter from drowning, plus other miracles noted in the records of this incident in the Scriptures. Yet, traditionally, the stopping of the storm is the only miracle counted in this incident.
This particular incident of a storm on the Sea of Galilee is known especially for the walking on the sea by Peter.
However, Matthew is the only Gospel to record Peter walking on the sea in this storm miracle.
Today We will learn: That while in the mist of a Severe Storm Tossed Sea, The Disciples and Peter Cried Out in their Despair and Jesus was there to be God’s Power Over their Despair!

Conclusion: Peter was not walking on water that day when he walked across the water to Jesus.
He was really walking on the Word of God.
So must we when storms arise!
You know, I thank God for storms. I don’t know what songs they sang back in Peter’s time, but they just may have been singing that song by
Andrae Crouch:
Through it all, through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus.
I’ve learned to trust … His Word.
You may want to stay in the comparative safety and comfort of the boat, but I sincerely believe this: you’re safer on the waves with Jesus than you are in the boat without Him.
